Champness Hall was built in1925 as a Church to serve the town of Rochdale by the Methodists. Named after Thomas Champness who had been a Methodist Minister in the town founding a newspaper and the trainning college at Castleton which was later to become Cliff College.
The building was sold in 1997 to Dave and Joyce Bargh who wished to see it preserved as a Church and sought to upgrade the associated office and commercial space to provide a sound financial base for the building to continue as a viable operation.

In the building there are shops, offices, Cafe, Childs soft play, Rooms for hire by the hour or day plus the main Hall. Situated right in the centre of the town in Rochdale there's easy acess from the Bus station and the Train station.
